Oil Stocks: Chyanne Fickes of Stone Funds
Chyanne Fickes, vice president of investments, Stone Funds was on RoBTV this morning with comments on several oil stocks
CANADIAN NATURAL RESOURCES (NYSE:CNQ TSE:CNQ): interesting..fallen quite a bit from its opening January 1st this year..given its peer group, not as bad..truly is trading with the price of oil..more volatile oil is, more volatile stock is..earnings quite good but not as good as last year..I have 20% weight in oils, quite underweight
ENCANA CORP (NYSE:ECA TSE:ECA): anything under $50 great entry point..more exposed to gas..great company..again, it's totally exposed to gas and gas has been terrible..
TRICAN WELL SERVICE (TSE:TCW): hit badly because gas situation..but they are more deep well oriented..looks slightly better than most drillers..great management..stock down quite a bit, earnings probably won't be down as much..
PETRO-CANADA (NYSE:PCZ TSE:PCA): I would definitely hold down here..it's always perennial cheapest oil stock..lots of Americans still think government is involved with this stock..great operations, great assets..down because of price of oil..wouldn't sell
TOP PICK NIKO RESOURCES (TSE:NKO): great asset play..coasts of India..just moved into Thailand, diversifying country risk..more they drill the more they get..NAV keeps going up..takeover play..
SUNCOR (NYSE:SU TSE:SU): lowest decline on any of the big cap oil stocks this year..issues with cost..won't get into it right now at this price..oil sands has completely gotten away from everyone..
