Oil Stocks: Glenn MacNeill, Sentry Select (II)

Glenn MacNeill, vice president of investments, Sentry Select Capital Corp

SUNCOR (NYSE:SU TSE:SU): SUNCOR is excellent company, traditionally has stayed relatively strong..buy part now and part later on..anything under $80 good buy..tied into oil sands nicely..natural gas only 10-20% of production..one that you would buy on weakness, will make money over long run

ENCANA (NYSE:ECA TSE:ECA): gas prices have been soft..rumors in marketplace that ENCANA would split itself into four divisions..would not bank on conversion into trust..

TRUE ENERGY (TSE:TUI.UN): yesterday had news that it was converting itself..felt this was another way for them to reduce distribution..they are going to use excess capital to pay down debt..suffered from declining rates..we have never owned this one, quality of the assets were not as good as others

DUVERNAY OIL (TSE:DDV): weighted to gas, great management team, track record of growing production and reserves, high-quality areas in Alberta and BC..we have held it since it was private company

CANADIAN SUPERIOR (TSE:SNG): drilling well in Trinidad, stock should react somewhat to that, at that point may represent partial exit point..company more speculative

REAL RESOURCES (TSE:RER): company that we own and like, have liked for some time, 50-50 oil-gas weighted..we think REAL represents good value compared to peers..produces about 11,000boe/day..

RALLY ENERGY (TSE:RAL): lot of assets in North Sea, has had good capital appreciation, also assets in Middle East..we like it, cautious at this point in time..I like BOW VALLEY ENERGY (TSE:BVX) better at this time..

CONNACHER OIL & GAS (CVE:CLL): driven by oil prices, properties in Northern Alberta..we currently own it, have fairly nice heavy oil discovery..they are growing production dramatically..

SHININGBANK ENERGY (TSE:SHN.UN): gas-weighted trust, expecting distribution cut, hold off buying right now..we do not own it..21% yield will be reduced
